While delving into the pages of "Atomic Habits," I stumbled upon a profound concept that's been resonating with me ever since: the idea of becoming 1% better each day. This notion reminded me of something I encountered in "The Design of Everyday Things" by Don Norman, which discusses incremental innovation. The key takeaway is that progress is often a gradual process that unfolds over time.

There are essentially two paths to transformation. One is through radical innovation, which involves making monumental, overnight changes. It's the kind of transformation that can revolutionize an industry. However, it's crucial to recognize that this approach relies on specific conditions, and it's not always reliable.

The second path, which closely aligns with the 1% improvement idea from "Atomic Habits," is incremental practice. This approach encourages change to occur little by little, steadily progressing over time. Incremental change is not only more accessible and sustainable in the long run, but it also accumulates over time. Consider this: by improving just 1% each day, you can achieve a remarkable 365% improvement in a year.

Applying this to the creation of this blog, instead of expecting to wake up one day possessing all the necessary skills, habits, and ideas to achieve your goals, I will adopt incremental practice. Begin by developing the habit of writing and regularly posting content, gradually growing comfortable with sharing my thoughts and creations. As I continue this practice and enhance my abilities, I can then refine and narrow my focus.

Give this idea a try, what's that one thing you've been eager to change, and what's the 1% you can work on today?
